1. Intro to Let there be Abundance

Like the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, the air that surrounds you and the ocean’s waves - there is abundance all around us. The world was created from the abundance of God’s love, life and creativity - it’s part of who you and I are as children of God. Let’s listen to God to discover how abundantly God has been available to us throughout our lives. Let Jesus remind you of a time you felt full of life.

2. Listening to Jesus about Abundance

What story gets in the way of our ability to see, enjoy and engage the abundance of life? Original creation and blessing precedes the story of original sin. Part of the burden of original sin is that the way we view the world is through the lens of lack rather than abundance. And yet, the abundance of creation is real and present for us to discover and see.

3. The story of Lack

Seeing the abundance of our lives enables us to quiet the discontent of “not enough.” Even in the garden of Eden, humans wrestled with the reality of abundance and the concern of lack. We were made in the image of God, the very thing Eve had was the thing she sought: to be like God. If only we could practice seeing what “is” - that we are like God, made in God’s image as children. As humans, we belong to the family of God - there is no other Source of your life. Let’s listen to Jesus dismantle the story of lack.
